This is a trip for those seeking to do something COMPLETELY out of the ordinary. Not only do you spend 3 days sailing in San Blas, but you end the trip in Colombia!  You can choose to embark on a two day open-water navigation to Cartagena or do a coastal navigation of eastern San Blas (a true hidden gem) all the way to Sapzurro, the first town across the Panama-Colombia border, on the Colombian side.   Both are fantastic trips that only priviledged cruisers have experienced.  The only requirement? A 6-month valid passport!

The price includes lodging, meals, captain & hostess, tranfer from hotel to boat, snorkeling & fishing gear, auxiliary boat for beach excursions, immigration paperwork at borders, anchorage & fuel fees. Cartagena de Indias, Colombia         5 days/5 nights   $1,122pp

After spending a few days sailing in San Blas you'll sail off to Cartagena de Indias, the latest hot spot in the Americas. Its beautiful colonial-style buildings surrounded by stone walls that defended the city from aspiring conquerors back in the 16th century, have earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Today, Cartagena is the top tourist destination in South America, with a super active night life, tons of world cuisine, and no shortage of beautiful beaches. You'll leave Cartagena mesmerized by its deep history and enchanted by its rich culture.

Sapzurro & Capurganá, Colombia    7 days/7 nights   $1,552pp

Passengers taking this route will get to discover some of the last hidden gems of this coast.  Located right at the border, Sapzurro and Capurganá are the first two bays in the Colombian territory, two small towns nestled at the feet of the Darien jungle.  Wildlife and waterfalls abound.  You'll get to see toucans and monkeys on a waterfall hike, and end the day swimming in the crystal clear Caribbean ocean.  As soon as you enter this Colombian territory you'll feel the lively vibe that characterizes Colombia as the most vibrant country in South America; definitely a striking contrast with the quieter, traditional Kuna indians on the other side of the border. This is certainly the path less traveled, but for nature lovers, the uncontested top choice.  From here it's only a $100 flight back to Panama city!
